Transformer substations are electrical installations designed for receiving, converting and distributing electrical energy consisting of transformers or other converters of electrical energy, control devices, distribution and auxiliary devices.

Substations with a voltage of 10 kV are designed to receive AC electrical energy with a frequency of 50 Hz with a voltage of 10 kV, convert it to a voltage of 0.23 kV and supply electricity to consumers in areas with temperate and cold climates.

Substations with a voltage of 27.5 kV are designed to receive electrical energy with a voltage of 27.5 kV, convert to a voltage of 0.23 kV and supply single-phase signaling devices, centralization, auto-locking, lighting and other railway facilities.

Substations with a voltage of 35 kV are designed to receive 35 kV electrical energy, convert it to a voltage of 0.23 kV and supply power to alarm devices, centralization, auto-locking and other low-power facilities.

Substations with a voltage of 1 kV are designed for heat treatment of concrete and soil in the conditions of construction sites.

Block-type substations are designed for receiving, converting, distributing and transit of electrical energy of three-phase alternating current with a frequency of 50 Hz at a rated voltage of 110, 35, 10 kV.
